On aurait dit les premières phrases des "Villes dans la plaine" de McCarthy.
J'étais debout, dans l'entrée, à taper des pieds pour évacuer l'eau et la boue
de mes chaussures pendant que j'essuyais mon visage trempé. La rue, ses feux
et ses enseignes n'étaient qu'amas de couleurs brouillées. J'en venais.
"Alice ?"
Elle était rentrée il y avait une demie-heure et était assise sur le canapé du salon.
Elle écoutait un disque que je découvrais en même temps qu'elle. N'ayant pas
résisté à ouvrir l'enveloppe jaune portant la mention "Catbird records", enveloppe
que j'aperçevrai plus tard en entrant dans le salon, elle en avait extrait le disque
de Ghosts, groupe de Mathew Sawyer (batteur de TV Personalities).
Il est arrivé ?
